Botswana is a sovereign state located in South Africa. The official name is the Republic of Botswana. The form of government is a parliamentary republic. The president of the country is the head of state and he also runs the government. Botswana is landlocked. The country borders South Africa to the south, Namibia to the north and west, Zimbabwe to the east, and Zambia to the northwest. The capital is Gaborone. The climate in Botswana ranges from subtropical to desert. Most of the country is covered by deserts and semi-deserts, and the climate is generally hot and dry.
