The Republic of Cuba is an island state in Latin America, in the Caribbean. It is located on the main island of Cuba and on more than 1600 small islands of the Greater Antilles. It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. According to the form of government, it is a socialist republic of the presidential-parliamentary type. The head of state is the president. The capital and largest city is Havana. Climate. Tropical, trade winds with high humidity throughout the year. Number. The estimated population for 2022 is 11,305,652 people. Language. The official language is Spanish. The main branch of the Cuban economy is the sugar industry. The country also exports sugar, nickel, tobacco, seafood, medical products, citrus fruits, and coffee. The country went through difficult times, but despite everything that it had to go through, it did not break down, did not succumb to influence and survived. Today, Cuba has the lowest infant death rate in the Americas. Medicine and education in the country are free. Cuba's healthcare system, if not the best in the world, is no worse than in developed countries. Obtaining Cuban citizenship is almost impossible. A Cuban passport is issued only by birth and only in very rare cases - to citizens of another country. But this does not prevent you from living in the country legally. Foreign citizens have the same rights as natives, including free healthcare. The country has a complicated but interesting history. There are many architectural monuments, endless white beaches, cozy bays, and the Atlantic Ocean and coral reefs attract more and more Europeans here, which gives rise to the development of tourism, which positively affects the infrastructure and economy. Being a former Spanish colony, Spanish colonial architecture has been preserved here, which blends with the local flavor. There is still no freedom of speech and free movement outside the country, a small number of residents have access to the Internet, but Cuba goes its own way - slowly and carefully. The poor but proud Island of Liberty, so loved by Hemingway, grows and strengthens every year thanks to the unbending spirit of the Cuban people. Everyone can envy their perseverance, tolerance and love of life.
