Curaçao is an island territorial entity that is one of the countries within the Caribbean Netherlands. Together with Aruba and Sint Maarten, Curaçao makes up the Caribbean Netherlands, which is a special municipal part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The island of Curacao is located in the Caribbean Sea, in the southern Caribbean. It is located near the coast of Venezuela. The capital of Curacao is the city of Willemstad. The form of government is a constitutional monarchy. The head of state is the Queen of the Netherlands, represented by the governor. However, the island has significant autonomy and is governed under the constitution of the Caribbean Netherlands as well as Curaçao's own constitution. The climate on the island is tropical, maritime. Fairly high temperatures all year round and relatively little rainfall. Average temperatures range from 25°C to 30°C. The rainy season is usually in October and November, but there is not much rainfall. The Caribbean Sea surrounding the island warms up to a comfortable temperature for swimming.
