The Marshall Islands (Republic of the Marshall Islands) is an island nation in Micronesia, located in the Western Pacific Ocean southeast of the Philippines and north of Papua New Guinea.
The capital is the city of Majuro.
The form of government is a presidential republic. The president of the country is the head of state and government. It is a multi-party state with democratic institutions.
The climate is tropical and oceanic. Average temperatures are high all year round, and the rainy season usually occurs between May and November. The Marshall Islands are prone to tropical cyclones and hurricanes during the rainy season.
The population is about 62,500 people. (2022).
The official language of the Marshall Islands is Marshallese, which belongs to the Micronesian family of Malayo-Polynesian languages. In addition, English also has an official status and is widely used for official and educational purposes.
