Norway
The Kingdom of Norway is a state located in the northwestern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula. Norway also includes the Spitsbergen archipelago, the Bear Islands, Jan Mayen (Arctic Ocean) and Bouvet Island in the Atlantic. It borders on Sweden, Finland and Russia. It is washed by the North Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, the Arctic Ocean and the Barents Sea.
The form of government is a constitutional monarchy, the form of government is unitary. The head of state is the King. Norway is the largest oil and gas producer in Northern Europe. Most of it is exported. Norway is the second oil exporter after Saudi Arabia. The capital of Norway and the seat of government is Oslo.
Climate. Basically, the climate is temperate maritime, and in the far north - subarctic. Thanks to the Gulf Stream, the climate in coastal areas is milder than in northern latitudes.
Population. The approximate population at the beginning of 2022 was 5,425,270 people, of which approximately 25% are immigrants.
Language. The official language is Norwegian. In a number of regions, Sami (the language of the indigenous people) and the classical literary Norwegian language, Bokmål, have an equal status with it.
