The capital is Jamestown, which is located on St. Helena Island.
The form of government is a constitutional monarchy. The head is the monarch of Great Britain. Each part has its own government, and the representative of the Crown in each territory is the governors.
The territories are located far from each other and stretched for 3600 km (2200 miles) and therefore the climate is different.
Ascension Island is located near the equator and is affected by the trade winds, so it is warm and humid here. The climate is tropical. Average temperatures in summer can rise to 30-32 degrees Celsius (86-90 degrees Fahrenheit), while in winter they usually do not drop below 23-25 degrees Celsius (73-77 degrees Fahrenheit). Tropical storms and cyclones often come here in summer and autumn.
Saint Helena Island is located further south and therefore has more moderate temperatures and humidity. Summer on the island is quite warm and dry. Average temperatures range from 21 to 27 degrees Celsius (70 to 81 degrees Fahrenheit). In winter the island becomes cooler and wetter. Average temperatures are around 17-20 degrees Celsius (63-68 degrees Fahrenheit).

The population of St. Helena Island is about 4,500 thousand inhabitants. (2021). Ascension Island has about 800 people, and Tristan da Cunha has slightly less than 300 people.
The official language is English.
The main source of income on the islands is fishing (salmon, tuna, etc.) and agriculture. Tourism is a promising area, especially in St. Helena and Ascension Island, due to historical attractions and exotic nature. But their remoteness and underdevelopment make the territories still very dependent on external assistance, especially from Great Britain.
Medical Services: Basic medical facilities and hospitals are available on the islands, but they are limited in their resources and may not provide more advanced and specialized medical care.
The education system on the islands provides basic primary and secondary education. However, opportunities for higher education are limited, and students wishing to pursue higher education are often forced to continue their studies abroad.
There are several types of documents regulating your stay on the islands: short-term (183 days) and long-term (up to 5 years), as well as a residence permit for work, but if you are absent from the territory for more than 183 days, it is canceled.
