Sri Lanka
The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is an island state in South Asia, on the island of the same name off the southeastern coast of Hindustan. It has a maritime border with India. It is washed by the waters of the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal.
The head of state is the president. The main economic center of the country and the largest port is Colombo. The capital is Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte. The production of natural rubber and cinnamon is well developed. About 10% of all tea in the world is produced on the island. The country's economy is based on the textile industry, agriculture, and tourism. A significant part of the income comes from the extraction of precious stones.

Language. Sinhala and Tamil are the official and national languages of Sri Lanka. According to the constitution, English also has the official status of a language.
