Cambodia

Cambodia (Kingdom of Cambodia) is a country in Southeast Asia, located on the Indochina Peninsula and bordered by several countries: in the north - with Thailand, in the east and south - with Vietnam, in the west - with Thailand and in the northwest - with Laos. In the southwest the country is washed by the Gulf of Thailand. The capital is Phnom Penh. The form of government is a constitutional monarchy. The monarch is the symbolic head of state, and the country is governed by a democratically elected government. Cambodia has a tropical monsoon climate characterized by two main seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season lasts from May to October, while the dry season occurs from November to April. During the rainy season, the country can experience significant amounts of rainfall, causing rivers to overflow and lakes such as the Tonle Sap to form. The population is 17,425,003 people (2022). The national and official language in Cambodia is Khmer (Cambodian). This language is widely used in education, administration and communication at the national level. However, there are also many different ethnic groups in Cambodia, and each of them may speak their own language. For example, local residents may speak languages such as Vietnamese, Chinese, French and others. Cambodia's economy is largely based on agriculture, textiles and tourism. Agriculture employs 80% of the population, they are engaged in the cultivation of rice, and also grow corn, sweet potatoes, maize, beans and other crops. The textile industry is also important for exports. Tourism is key to the country's economy, with millions of foreign tourists coming here to visit places like the Angkor Temples - some of the most impressive architectural monuments in the world! This complex includes many temples and buildings created between the 9th and 15th centuries. Angkor Wat is considered the symbol of Cambodia. You can also visit the capital, where you can see the Royal Palace and the National Museum. Also relax in Kep Province, this coastal region is famous for its beaches, fresh seafood and natural parks such as Kep National Park. The standard of living in Cambodia is relatively low compared to developed countries and there are problems of poverty and inequality. The level of medical care in the country is uneven, especially in rural areas. In larger cities such as Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, access to medical care and modern medical equipment is much better. However, the quality of medical services is still below world standards, and serious illnesses and injuries may require referral to specialists abroad. The level of education in Cambodia is also uneven. Basic education is free and compulsory for children, but the quality of education is low, especially in rural areas. Many students study abroad for higher education. The state's security level is relatively stable and the country is considered relatively safe for tourists and travelers. Foreigners can obtain citizenship of the Kingdom of Cambodia through the naturalization process, through marriage with a citizen of this country, as well as through the program for obtaining citizenship through investment in the state's economy.
