Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is a state in the eastern part of the island of Haiti in the Caribbean. The island is part of the archipelago of the Greater Antilles. In addition to the main territory on the island of Haiti, the republic owns many small islands. The capital is Santo Domingo. It borders on Haiti. It is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
The main income of the country comes from tourism, as well as the export of sugar, coffee and tobacco. The Dominican Republic does not maintain close relations with most countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, but maintains active diplomatic activity in four of its most important regions: the West Indies, Latin America, the United States of America and Western Europe. The form of government is a presidential republic, the head of state is the president.
