Honduras
The Republic of Honduras is a state in Central America. The country also includes islands in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Fonseca, including the outlying Swan Islands in the northeast. It borders with Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala. It is washed by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.
Honduras is a unitary presidential republic. The capital Tegucigalpa is the largest city in the central part of the country. The country's economy is divided into two parts: one characteristic of the areas of colonial settlement within the central highlands, the other - for the Caribbean coast, where American banana companies have created their own enclaves near export plantations. In the agricultural areas, the plantations of American companies use the most modern methods of production, and a network of railroads and highways has been built to serve the plantations and export products. The highlands of the country remain isolated and economically inert.
Climate. Tropical, trade winds with rather sharp differences. The country is prone to frequent and destructive tropical hurricanes. The average annual temperature in the lowlands is +22 +26 °C.
Number. The estimated population in 2022 is 10,439,660.
Language. The official language is Spanish, many, but workers in the tourism sector are well aware of English, and Indian languages are also used.
Honduras is an agricultural country, and economically considered an underdeveloped country in Latin America, whose economy is dependent on the US economy. Approximately 55% of the population lives in rural areas. School attendance is not compulsory, many of the children are forced to drop out of school in order to earn a living. The quality of medicine varies by region. Many residents do not have access to it. There are no qualified personnel, equipment and materials outside the capital. Complicated surgical operations are not performed in the country.
Honduras is a typical Latin American country with very beautiful nature and rich history. The waters of the Caribbean Sea are rich in fish and seafood. The main fish species are lobsters and shrimp. In Honduras, the main attraction is located - these are the ruins of the Mayan civilization, which have preserved the remains of pyramids and temples.
But despite the beautiful nature, Honduras is not the most popular place to move. And the main problem of the state is crime. Outside the resort areas, a foreigner is unlikely to feel safe even during the day.
