Jersey (Bailiwick Jersey) is a dependent territory of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This territory is located in the English Channel, near the coast of France. The capital is the city of St. Gellier. The territory has its own parliament, called the States of Jersey. The States of Jersey are made up of 49 elected members, of whom 8 are government ministers and the remainder are members elected from among the citizens of the territory. The President of the States of Jersey is called the "President of Parliament" and represents the body before the Queen of Great Britain, who is the head of the Bailiwick. It is noteworthy that Jersey has its own legislation, which differs from the British and other dependent territories. The climate is oceanic. Winters are usually mild and cool. Average winter temperatures are around 8-10 degrees Celsius (46-50 degrees Fahrenheit). And in summer it's not too hot. Average summer temperatures are around 18-20 degrees Celsius (64-68 degrees Fahrenheit). Humidity is usually high, especially in winter and spring. Population is about 110,000 people (2021) The official language in Jersey is English, but the use of French is also common. The main sources of income are the financial sector, including asset management, banking, the stock market and insurance. Tourism also plays a significant role, attracting tourists with beautiful beaches and attractions. Agriculture and industry (pharmaceuticals and chemicals) also contribute. The economy is stable and has low unemployment, and tax incentives attract many companies and investments. Citizenship is not granted by birth, but Jersey does have a residence permit by investment program. With a residence permit, we can visit the UK, Ireland and other dependent territories of the United Kingdom without a visa. If you follow all the rules, then six years after receipt you can apply for British citizenship. There are so many attractions in Jersey!
