Kenya
Kenya is a country located in eastern Africa. It is washed on one side by the Indian Ocean, which makes its coastline long and beautiful. It has land border crossings with several neighboring countries: Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The form of government is a unitary presidential republic. The head of state is the president. The capital is Nairobi, a city near the equator.
Climate. Climate conditions in Kenya can vary depending on the time of year and specific location.
The Indian Ocean coast has a tropical, humid climate. There is high humidity and temperature all year round. Rain usually falls in April-June and October-December. Most of the country, including lowland and savanna areas, has a subequatorial savanna climate. There are two seasons here: the rainy season (March - May) and the dry season (June - October). In mountainous areas, the climate is cooler and more changeable. Cold nights, especially in the highlands, and snowfall are possible here. The northern regions of the country, closer to the border with Somalia and Ethiopia, are characterized by a dry climate and low precipitation.
Number. As of 2023, the population was 51,526,000, but the data may be distorted due to the presence of slums, the population of which is extremely difficult to estimate.
Language. The official languages are English and Swahili. English is the official and educational language in Kenya. It is used in government, education, business. Most Kenyans speak at least a basic level of English. Swahili, used in everyday life, in families and local communities. Apart from English and Swahili, many languages are spoken in Kenya as the country has a diverse ethnic culture.
