The capital is Funafuti, which is located on the atoll of the same name. The climate is tropical, with little seasonal temperature variation and little precipitation. The standard of living in Tuvalu is relatively low, and government services such as medicine, education and social security are limited. Tuvalu is relatively safe, but as with anywhere, you should be careful and take care of your belongings. Citizenship can be obtained through naturalization. Citizenship by birth is only given to children of Tuvaluan citizens. Attractions in Tuvalu include beautiful beaches, coral reefs and local cultural attractions such as holidays and festivals. The local population is hospitable to visitors, but their traditions and customs should be respected. Finding work for non-Tuvaluans can be difficult as the country's economy is underdeveloped.
