Barbados is an independent country in the Caribbean Sea, located east of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, southeast of Saint Lucia and northeast of Grenada. The capital of Barbados is Bridgetown. The form of government is parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy. The head of state is the British monarch, represented by the Governor General of Barbados. Power in the country is exercised through elections and the work of parliament. Barbados is famous for its snow-white beaches and beautiful natural landscapes. The island is a popular tourism destination and is known for its warm climate and hospitality. Climate: Barbados has a tropical maritime climate with mild temperatures all year round. Average temperatures range from 24°C to 30°C. The island is subject to seasonal rainfall and the main rainy season is from June to November. Population 290,050 people (2022). The national and official language of Barbados is English. The standard of living on the island is relatively high compared to some other countries in the Caribbean.
