The Hellenic Republic is a state in Southern Europe, on the border with Asia Minor. Greece is located in the southern part of the Balkan Peninsula and on the islands adjacent to it (about 2 thousand islands). The capital, Athens, is one of the oldest cities in the world. About 35% of the total population of the country lives in the capital. It borders with Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey. It is washed by the Mediterranean, Ionian, Libyan and Aegean seas. Greece is a parliamentary republic in terms of government. Legislative power belongs to the Parliament, the head of state is the President.
Climate. The climate in the country is divided into three types and affects a certain area: Mediterranean, Alpine and temperate.
Population. The estimated population in 2022 was 10,656,000 people, of which immigrants make up 11.6% of the country's population.
Language. The official language is Greek, which is spoken by 99% of the country's population.
