Switzerland

Switzerland

Officially, the Swiss Confederation is a state in Central Europe, a federal republic consisting of 20 cantons and 6 semi-cantons with federal authorities in Bern. Each canton has its own constitution and legislation, but their application is limited by the federal constitution. Most of the country is occupied by mountains: the Swiss Plateau, the Alps and the mountains of the South. Switzerland is landlocked. It borders with Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein. As for the capital, it doesn't officially exist, but Switzerland is a country of compromise, and Bern has been approved as the official seat of the Federal Council and its seven departments, as well as the Federal Chancellery. I would like to note that Bern is still not the capital, but the place where the Federal Assembly is located. In order not to be offended by other cities, it was decided that, for example, the honoring of the new president should take place not at the location of the parliament and government (Bern), but in his native canton. The question of the capital confuses not only foreigners, but also a significant part of the country's citizens, but here the main question arises: is it important to indicate which city is the main one? And given the time-tested successes in the economy and society, Switzerland is doing just fine without a capital. Climate. The climate in Switzerland is typical for Central Europe - continental. Switzerland has cool summers and warm winters. True, in the mountains in winter, daytime temperatures range from -5 to -10 ° C. But the climate differs from region to region. In Switzerland, you can find both mosses and lichens, as well as palm trees and mimosa. The population is expected to be approximately 8,927,007 at the end of 2022. Approximately 30% of the population are immigrants. Language. Since the country arose at the junction of 2 European cultural groups - Germanic and Romance, the language border also passes the same principle. The constitution of the Swiss Confederation fixed 4 state languages: German, French, Italian, Romansh. The presence of four official languages does not imply that every citizen of the country must know all four languages. But in most cases, the local population uses one or two languages in their speech. Switzerland is one of the richest countries in the world with different traditions, languages and a wonderful mix of four mentalities. This is a land of mysteries where skiing and thermal resorts, medieval abbeys and meditative mountain panoramas, gastronomic delights and vineyards coexist and interact with each other. This small country has concentrated in itself all the advantages of its closest neighbors, but at the same time has not lost its individuality and national color. Despite all the unrest and crises of recent years, Switzerland remains a bulwark of stability. Speaking of Switzerland, expensive watches, high-end chocolates and gourmet cheeses come to mind. But also we must not forget that this well-groomed, beautiful country is the most stable country, where your savings will never be lost and will not depend on the exchange rate, where the highest standard of living is due to specialists from all over the world. This is a country where you can choose between urban charm and rural landscape, well-groomed parks, many kilometers of bicycle paths, mountains and lakes untouched by civilization. There is no need to rush, but you can do everything in time. And in the evening, under the ringing of the bells of the Alpine cows, with pleasure you will get acquainted with the recipes of cheese making and slowly immerse yourself in the knowledge of this wonderful country.
